About me: from rasslin’ to writing to TV and film
From age 14 to 27, all I wanted to be in life was a professional wrestler. My parents insisted I get a degree first, so I was a Journalism major at Auburn University. After graduation, I worked at newspapers in Alabama during the week, and wrestled on the weekends.
The common denominator between the two, believe it or not, was storytelling, which has shaped all of my creative efforts since then. When I moved to New York in my late 20s, I fell into acting. And it became clear to me that my path was in the creative world.
Since then I have written books, plays, and screenplays; been on season six of 24; and filmed a TV pilot. And I’m working every day to develop the TV and film industry in Upstate New York.

I have four published works so far: two wrestling books, a historic fiction novel, and my first collection of plays.

Historic fiction about the day Ty Cobb climbed into the stands and nearly killed a crippled fan, resulting in baseball’s first strike and scab team.

Sunset Painting and The Sun: Two Plays by Greg Klein
Presenting my first two plays. Sunset Painting is about taking care of my grandmother, a child star ballerina, at the end of her life. The Sun is about a small-town newspaper that is bought out and gutted by a corporation.
My wrestling podcast
On my podcast, Greg Klein’s Old School Rasslin Talk, I look at the “territory days” of professional wrestling, including my love, Houston Wrestling.
I also talk about my wrestling career in the 1990s. My specialty has become Southern Rasslin’, especially Texas, which led me to write my book, The Texas Rasslin’ War(s) of the 1950s.
